I’m a huge fan of Guitar Hero 3 for Wii, but not with the standard vanilla guitar. While it does come with some stickers that you can plaster all over the white plastic, it somehow misses the mark in terms of style. I checked out some of the skins that I’ve seen at electronics stores and was similarly unimpressed.

So what else was I to do, but create my own skin? Tego offers custom cell phone and GH3 skins that you can apply and remove whenever you would like. You can choose the background color, insert text, or choose a picture from their art library. The coolest part is that you can also upload a picture, resize or turn it, and make your skin truly custom!

I like the coffee-fueled Zoomie racing series and bought the Edward 10 degree polo shirt. If anyone has Edward and his Bulldozer, I’d gladly trade him for my set, though they’re already open and on display.

Nintendo recently released a ‘Zapper’ gun accessory to allow two-handed machine gun like grip for shooting games, while keeping the nunchuck available for movement. I had a chance to play around with the Zapper and Link’s Crossbow training. I’m a huge fan of shooting games in general and it was an enjoyable play. It’s not really a full game, as we managed to beat it (albeit with all Bronze) in just one night.

Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable mini-game. The grip is slightly awkward and takes a while to get used to. As a righty, I ended up using my left hand for the trigger and my right hand to hold the zapper and use the joystick. With some practice, this got a bit more comfortable.

However, the telltale Wii sensor lag was still very evident. Frankly, I’ve been worried that shooting games for the Wii are not worthwhile. Then I found a game with smooth tracking, although only nominally a shooter and with poor overall controls. That game is Raving Rabbids 2. I said it… the best tracking and targeting I’ve seen yet.

Resident Evil? Red Steel? Take a hint from those crazy little evil rabbits. Aaaaaghhhh!

It seems that for the last 4 or 5 years, Apple has introduced some kind of innovative electronics at Macworld. From various incarnations of the iPod to the revolutionary iPhone smartphone, Steve keeps raising the bar each year. So what’s in store for the Macworld keynote address tomorrow at 9 AM PST?

Some have speculated on an iPhone Nano, even going so far as to create slick mockups. I have to agree with Engadget on the possible size of such a release. Not only does a phone require more components that an mp3 player such as a radio and better battery, but it’s also unlikely that they can make it much smaller and keep the usability up on their keyboard and browser features.

While I think an iPhone Nano could be pretty sweet, I’d still prefer to see Apple release a Developer Kit for the iPhone platform.
